Section 245(i) Adjustment of Status

If you are the beneficiary of a petition filed on your behalf prior to April 30, 2001, you may adjust your status in the United States, if eligible. You may also be grandfathered in by Section 245(i) if this petition was filed on behalf of one of your relatives and you are a derivative beneficiary.

Family Unity Programs

If you are the spouse or child of a LPR or USC who obtained their status through amnesty, established your relationship prior to May 5, 1988, and you have also resided continuously in the United States, you may be eligible for Voluntary Departure under the Family Unit Program. This program will grant you employment and travel authorization while you are waiting to be eligible for adjustment of status.
